Altec Lansing® Appoints Steven Upchurch as Technical Services Manager

23-Year Pro Audio Veteran Has Strong Experience in Technical, Production, and Customer Service Arenas

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK - Sept. 18, 2002 - Altec Lansing® Professional, the newly-established pro audio division of leading speaker manufacturer Altec Lansing Technologies, Inc., today announced the hiring of Steven Upchurch as the division's new Technical Services Manager. Upchurch, a highly-skilled pro audio veteran with 23 years of technical expertise, will oversee all technical issues related to product application, documentation, and customer service within Altec Lansing Professional.

Over his career, Upchurch has worked as an Electronics Technician, Electronics Production Engineer, and Technical Services Manager. Most recently he was Director of Service and Distribution at IRP Professional Sound Products, where he established their new North American distribution center.

Upchurch has also been an independent audio consultant and technical writer for several well-known pro audio manufacturers. He began his pro audio career in 1979 at Ford Audio-Video in Oklahoma City. In 1983, he joined Altec Lansing Corporation, serving over the next 16 years in a variety of positions in engineering, manufacturing and technical support.

"Of all the positions I have held, I find being Technical Services Manager the most personally satisfying," said Upchurch.

Upchurch's duties at Altec Lansing Professional will include that of company historian. Upchurch will maintain the extensive library of information documenting Altec Lansing's contributions to the pro audio industry-a history that dates to the first talking motion picture. Various technical literature, product specifications, newsletters, etc. from Altec Lansing's years of operations are catalogued and stored for reference by Altec Lansing customers and personnel.

At Altec Lansing Corporation, which at the time was owned by another company, Upchurch developed and conducted tests that validated production for a number of Altec Lansing products. He transferred, reorganized, and integrated Altec Lansing, Electro-Voice®, and University Sound® product documentation into a central documentation system, and served the company's customers as a key resource for the resolution of technical and application-related questions.

In his new position, Upchurch will work from Altec Lansing Professional's headquarters in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
